Who are we?

Who are we?

Who are we?

What we do

This collaborative effort provides food assistance to the most vulnerable in our country. To date we have helped feed schoolchildren, people living in shelters, aged-care facilities, orphanages and under-served communities, all of whom are experiencing severe hardship in this ongoing crisis.
Our relief efforts have been accomplished with the help of Pick n Pay customers and partnerships with corporates and other foundations both locally and internationally.
Our major funders include the Kolisi Foundation, Afrika Tikkun, Courage Hout Bay, JAM, United Ways South Africa, Bryan Habana Foundation, Bethesda Fountain Of Healing Association, Mellon Educate, V&A Waterfront Holdings (Pty) Ltd, UNIMA – SA, Cycle Tour and the Stormers.
None of this would have been possible without YOU, our loyal customers. Our most heartfelt THANK YOU for your support. We continue to urge all South Africans to join us on our journey to Feed the Nation!
Feed The Nation
To Date, we have managed to distribute over 39 000 000 meals

Our objective

As a nation we are navigating a particularly challenging time. There are countless communities battling rampant unemployment and hunger. With the help of our invaluable partners and funders, our aim is to contribute to helping address food security in these communities and alleviate widespread hunger. Not only do we provide essential nutrition; we also assist communities and schools in implementing their own food gardens to provide a sustainable source of nutrition.
Children remain our focus area as they are often the most affected. Child-headed households, the high incidence of which is truly heart-breaking, are faced with hunger and often shocking living conditions. Through the Pick n Pay School Club (www.schoolclub.co.za), we have been able to identify the most urgent needs, and to date have distributed urgent food assistance to over 500 schools across the country, providing over 20 000 child-headed households with much-needed nutrition.
As communities face the devastating economic aftermath of Covid, we believe the need to support vulnerable families is greater now than it was at the start of the pandemic. New partnerships will ensure we are able to extend our reach even further and continue to make a meaningful difference to those unable to feed themselves or their families.
