Brookdale Primary School in Phoenix,  Kwa-Zulu Natal has just over 2480 learners, many of whom were left vulnerable by the COVID-19 pandemic. Feed the Nation Foundation donated 1 000 food parcels to the families of learners at the school just before the December school holidays, as part of the Foundation’s initiative to support child-headed households. This was one of the largest handovers of food parcels to any one school. The Foundation thanks its many sponsors and partners for helping to ensure a donation of this size was possible. A big thank you to Pick n Pay staff and Pick n Pay School Club members in the KZN region who worked tirelessly to ensure a seamless handover.
